Starting small

We began as a small group of Christ Fellowship Cherrydale in early 2012. A group of 12 or 15 began meeting together in the Hoffman's living room.

The church takes shape

Through prayer and the guidance of the elders at CFC, we began to sense the Lord was leading our group to become the core team of a new church. We zeroed in on Greer as a growing, exciting community in need of more healthy churches.

Becoming a family

On April 22, 2014, about 25 folks covenanted together as The Church at Greer Station. We began meeting to sing, hear from God’s word, and take the Lord’s Supper. We held our first gathering at Greer Community Ministries.

Going public

On September 7, 2014, we hosted our first-ever public gathering at Grace Hall in downtown Greer. We opened our doors to our community and invited them in to come follow Jesus alongside of us.

Light on Our Feet

We spent 6 years in different facilities all around our city as a church “light on our feet.” We met in dance halls, elementary schools, and in other churches. But in spite of all that moving around, the Lord still worked. We baptized many, added to our number, sent leaders out, and saw Jesus at work in our body.

Finding a home

In 2020, we were gifted the former Ridgewood Baptist Church (operating then as Grace Place) located on Ridgewood Drive. It was a beautiful facility with incredible potential, but in need of a considerable amount of work. (Click here to see some before pictures of the space; we love showing off the trasnformation.)

After two years of cleaning, fund-raising, and renovating, we changed our name to Ridgewood Church and moved in. We hosted our first gathering in our new home on September 11, 2022.

We continue to meet here every Sunday morning to celebrate Jesus, learn from the bible, and care for one another.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen!
