Our Values

Ridgewood Church exists for one reason: to make Jesus known from Greer to the ends of the earth. (Matt. 28:18-20, Eph. 3:10, Acts 1:8)

We're simple

We're simply about Jesus. We believe that everything was created by him and for him, and that the Bible and all of history is about him. Jesus is “the Alpha and the Omega… the first and the last.” (Revelation 1:8,17) We're not flashy. We believe God works through the ordinary means of grace: bible, prayer, the Lord's Supper, baptism, and fellowship.

We're rooted

We recognize God put us in this time and place; we are present here, in this community; and we are present now, at this point in history. We long to be a modern expression of our ancient faith, here and now. "Guard the deposit entrusted to you.”(2 Tim. 6:20)

We're personal

We take each person seriously. We want to live out the 30+ “one-anothers” of the New Testament in a rich life together as a church family. "Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor!" (Romans 12:10)

Our Beliefs

Our aim is to develop, teach, and lead people towards a robust faith that stabilizes Christians against the prevailing winds of the culture and difficulties of life.  We seek to express the faith set forth in the following historic confessions:

  • The Apostles' Creed (A.D. 150)

  • The Nicene Creed (A.D. 325/381)

  • The Definition of Chalcedon (A.D. 451)

In addition, we affirm“The Baptist Faith and Message, 2000” as a cooperating member of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Our Partners

We are a Southern Baptist Church and member of the Pillar Network. We are also a part of our local Baptist Association, the Three Rivers Association.

We don’t assume that we’re the best church for you. We recognize that our church building can be quite full on Sunday mornings, and if you don’t live in our immediate area, we think that you are probably better off joining yourself to a church closer to where you live.

In addition to gospel-preaching churches from other denominations & traditions with whom we share fellowship, there are a number of churches in this area who share both our doctrinal distinctives and our philosophy of ministry. If you're traveling some distance to visit us and are looking for a church home, we would encourage you to consider some of these other congregations.
